Whoever you are and
wherever you are on life's journey,
you are welcome here.
Join us
24th Sunday after Pentecost
3 November 2024
If you are visiting the island and would like to stop by for a tour of the campus or a moment in the columbarium, please reach out with your visitation request. We will be happy to confirm
via email.
Whether you are a believer or a seeker, wherever you may be on life’s journey, you are welcome to join us in worship, as God’s abundant imagination shapes us, as God’s lavish love re-creates us, as God’s indiscriminate grace leads us out of worship and into service to speak and act in love and justice.
If you have a prayer concern or need please reach out with your prayer request. Our paster will be receiving all emails for prayer requests.
We were founded in 1890 by missionaries from Japan to serve field workers and their families. Over time, those families became locals and many members developed into community leaders both locally and state-wide. Our education level and sense of responsibility to the community have always been high.
In 1960, our social hall was built as a place for the Hanapepe community to gather, and it currently hosts regular community activities such as Tutu & Me preschool, a highly popular and inexpensive Kokua (thrift) shop, and a Sea Scouts troop.
We were the first United Church of Christ on Kauai to officially become Open and Affirming – which means that we specifically welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) members – and led Kauai’s first Pride Festival parade in 2019. We invite you join us for worship at 10:00 on Sundays for an inspiring time of worship, and good company. Hanapepe United Church of Christ truly welcomes all, no matter what their background.
